2019 Conference Enhancements

Voluntourism AND Local Touring

Attendees will no longer have to choose between either a local tour or the Voluntourism event. Participants will be able to do both due to a change in the schedule.

New Member Orientation in Advance of the Conference

Instead of a single session being held on the conference’s first day, (2) pre-conference New Member Orientation webinars will be offered where both new members and first-time conference attendees can learn more about KTIA and gain maximum benefit from your conference attendance. Dates TBD.

Tradeshow Enhancements

Conference attendees and exhibitors will receive new value from two new features:

  1. Biz for BucksSay good-bye to the old “dance card” list of exhibitors for attendees to get signed and hello to our new incentive called Biz for Bucks. The way it will work is that exhibitors will give play money - BizBucks - to attendees who visit their booths. More visits and conversations means more BizBucks. Then, during the conference Wrap Up Session, attendees can use their BizBucks to bid on major prizes.
  1. New Tradeshow ReceptionA tradeshow reception has been added to the conference schedule, providing an additional opportunity to visit with exhibitors (and receive more BizBucks!).

Traverse Awards Enhancements

In an effort to elevate the Traverse Awards value and prestige to a level appropriate for receiving a marketing award from Kentucky’s most marketing focused industry, changes have been made to the awards program. Enhancements include new awards (Awards of Distinction), a day long series of award announcements rather than just during the Gala Dinner, and added publicity for winners (The Lane Report, Kentucky Monthly, Kentucky Living and WLEX18). Golden Gala Reception & Dinner

What was formerly called the Gala Dinner has now become the Golden Gala to appropriately convey the prestige of the evening. Other enhancements include:

  • Greater emphasis on the event’s semi-formal attire with encouragement to attendees to wear gold or black colored attire or accessories
  • Reception red carpet photo opportunities
  • Enhanced dinner decor

Revised Fee Structure: Advance and Event

All conference fees will remain the same, but will be classified as Advance fees, with higher Event fees activated on October 10. Attendees are encouraged to register prior to that date to avoid the higher fees and to assist the KTIA management team with difficulties that have arisen from an increasingly large number of late registrations.
